CONTROVERSY PROJECT FOR RCL I

Dauring Fall of 2013 for my RCL I class I was tasked with helping create a video that presents a current public controversy. Working with two other partners, we conducted research, collected data, did voice-overs, and spent many hours in the editing booth to put this video together.

This video examines the NSA controversy that became a hot topic in the spring and summer of 2013. We examined the opposing ideologies of the controversy, presented them equally, and left the viewr to draw their own conclusion.

Although its a group project, I particularly enjoyed the end result. Being able to project two points of view using the alternating-voice technique really highlights for me the argument present. I believe this video is a huge example for how you can effectively communicate the difference between two opposing sides.

As an endnote on what my contributions to the project included: Obviously I played a role as one of the voices, I collected and organized a good portion of the photos and video clips, and I did all of the editing on my own.

Speeches and Videos

Here you can find all the other mediums of rhetoric that I've composed. As an alternative to written essays, most of these are either a video or an audio recording of myself doing an oral presentation.

This was probably one of my favorite projects from my RCL course. Due to its more poetic nature and the amount of freedom I took in creating a more emphasized and aesthetic oral presentation I certainly think this is one of the better demonstrations of the artistic quality of my writing and my ability to translate it it into speech.

Since I had the ability to record this over and over until I got it right, and I had no audience or external pressures, the voice and natural inflexion flow with a higher quality and fully allow for the full effect that I am trying to instill in my audience.

THIS, I BELIEVE
